Poly Urethane Adhesive is two component adhesive designed for installing rubber flooring and other heavy duty vinyl flooring on leveled and solid substrates. When part A and part B are thoroughly mixed together, they form a reactive adhesive that cures to a tough and flexible film with strong adhesions to both the backing of flooring and the substrate and strong cohesion for the film itself.
Part A normally contains a polyol, chain extender, catalyst, blocking agent and etc. Part B contains monomeric, polymeric or prepolymeric isocyanate. There is a trade off between a rapid cure rate and a long open time. The catalyst increase the cure rate and shorten the open time for laying the flooring material while the blocking agent delay the curing reaction and extend the open time. In addition, the humidity and temperature of the air in the job site will have an impact on the open time and curing rate of the adhesive.
